Coop's

Coop's stands at the junction of King Street West and Dorning street. It was originally a factory, built in 1871 to employ girls who had become unemployed as a result of the "cotton famine". It ceased work as a factory in 1993,but in 1996 it reopened as a multi-functional building thanks to the initiative of City Challenge.
